Bone Cancer Symptoms
Bone cancer is among the deadliest, yet prolonged cancers. Those diagnosed with bone cancer are often faced with years of suffering and excruciating pain with no known cure for bone cancer.
Doctors can use several methods to find bone cancer. Symptoms, a physical exam, imaging tests, and blood tests may all suggest bone cancer.
Often a biopsy is needed to verify the presence of cancer since other diseases can cause the same symptoms.
Common bone cancer symptoms include:
- Persistent pain that worsens
- Stiffness/tenderness in the bone
- Swelling of the bone
- Fatigue
- Fever
- Swelling
- Stumbling
- Unexplained bone fracture(s) without noticeable bodily trauma
- Unexplained weight loss (late stage cancer)
- Difficulty breathing (as cancer progresses)
- Tumors occurring in or near the joints causing swelling or tenderness in those areas
- Anemia
Keep in mind that none of these symptoms, exclusive of each other, is a sure sign of bone cancer.
They may also be caused by other, less serious conditions. It is important to check with a doctor to ascertain the reason for your symptoms and to determine proper treatment.
