Sinus cancer is difficult to diagnose early, because the symptoms mirror those of other diseases, such as sinus infections.

Between 80 and 90 out of every 100 people (90%) diagnosed with cancer of the nose will have a blockage in their sinuses that is ongoing, and nosebleeds are also a common symptom.

Some of the key symptoms of sinus and nasal cavity cancer are:

  • Sinuses that are blocked and do not clear
  • A growth or mass on the face, nose, or palate
  • A lump or sore inside the nose that does not heal
  • Frequent headaches or pain affecting the sinus region
  • Mucus draining from the nose
  • Decreased sense of smell
  • Numbness or pain in parts of the face
  • Loosening, pain or numbness of the teeth
  • Swelling or other problems with the eyes

  • Problems with dentures
  • Blockages causing stuffiness in one side of your nose that will not go away
  • Nosebleeds
  • Bulging of one eye
  • Complete or partial loss of sight
  • Double vision
  • Pain above or below the eye
  • A watery eye with tears running down the cheek
  •  A lump or growth anywhere on the face, nose or roof of the mouth that does not go away
  • Difficulty opening your mouth
  • Enlarged lymph nodes in your neck
  • Pain or pressure in one of your ears

If you have any of these symptoms and they are persistent, you will want to check with your doctor to ensure you do not have sinus or nasal cavity cancer.
